Performance

Thermal Properties

Timber framed, cladded homes are designed with year-round comfort in mind. Timber naturally slows the transfer of heat, while generous frame cavities allow for thick, full-depth insulation. Together with fibre cement cladding, these layers create an efficient external wall system that helps keep your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer. Timber’s low thermal mass also means it releases built-up heat quickly, helping create cooler nights without leaning as heavily on the air conditioning.

Thermal Properties

Acoustic Comfort

A quiet home starts with a well-designed wall system. Timber framing works together with insulation, internal linings and external fibre cement cladding to create multiple layers between you and the outside world. Rather than relying on one material to do all the work, the complete wall system helps reduce unwanted noise and create quieter, more comfortable spaces for you and your family.

Fire & Bushfire Performance

Fibre cement cladding brings some serious strength when it comes to fire performance. James Hardie fibre cement products are non-combustible and can form part of wall systems designed for bushfire-prone areas. When combined with the right timber framing, insulation, wraps and construction methods, the home can be built to meet the Bushfire Attack Level required for your site.

Durability & Coastal Performance

WA conditions can be tough on a home, especially close to the coast. Fibre cement cladding won’t rust and is resistant to damage from termites, moisture and rot, while its dimensional stability helps resist swelling and warping. Pair that with treated structural timber, building wraps and smart moisture management, and you have a durable wall system designed to stand up to harsh Australian conditions for years to come.
